Treatments

Treatments
BWF Envirotec offers a broad range of surface and protective finishes, which
are planned and developed in our own R&D department. All finishes - whether
individually applied or combined -significantly extend the areas of application.
Treated filter media achieve better cleaning performances and reach longer
service lives.

The areas of application of BWF Envirotec`s surface treatments and protective
finishes are as versatile as there are dust properties.

In the following table you will find typical dust properties as well as the
appropriate BWF Envirotec finishes:

Code 1:
singed face side

Code 4:
glazed face side

Glaze:
smooth surface finish which increases the active filter surface to achieve low pressure drop
and higher filtration efficiency

x-surf, Si:
full bath anti-adhesive finish to reduce the friction between fibres and abrasive dusts

Code 9:
high concentrated, full bath anti-adhesive finish to reduce the friction between fibres and abrasive dusts

CS17®:
full bath dust, oil and water repellent finish to prevent the absorption of moisture of the needlefelt and to reduce the risk of excessive dust deposits and caking.

CS18®:
PTFE surface coating to provide a surface-orientated dust separation. It reduces the adhesive forces between the filter medium and the dust cake. This eases the cleaning process and avoids blinding of the filter medium.

CS29®:
full bath oil and water repellent finish to protect the filter medium from chemical and hydrolytic attacks; at moderate temperatures and at relatively moderate moisture contents, CS29 develops a highly protective effect by its excellent oil and water rejection especially with condensation of water and acid.

CS30:
full bath PTFE treatment to increase the active filter surface.

CS31:
full bath oil and water repellent finish;
CS31 is suitable for any fine dust, which gets sticky below the dew point. The active filter surface is increased and the cleanability of the filter medium is improved.

CS42:
full bath treatment for m-Aramide needle felts;
by its high temperature resistance CS42 protects the m-Aramide filter medium from chemical and hydrolytic attacks with continuous processes, dry products as well as high temperatures and relatively low moisture.

FireGuard® :
top layer made of high tech fibres to increase the resistance of the filter medium against flying sparks in the raw gas stream of the dust collector.

MPS®:
Micro- Pore- Size, filter medium for the filtration of ultra fine dusts

Epi: epitropic fibre admixture to reduce antistatic charge
as: stainless steel fibre admixture to reduce antistatic charge
ExCharge®:
antistatic filter medium with a conductive matrix; it achieves resistance values, far below <106, measured as per DIN 54345 (part 1 and part5), ExCharge® is certified by Exam (Institute for Explosion Prevention)

PyroGuard:
a layer of graphite to protect the felt from pyrophoric dust
